The
team of Josef Kaufmann will compete in the new founded Formula BMW
Europe Series 2008 with the driver Esteban Gutiérrez (MEX), Kazeem
Manzur (GBR) and Marco Wittmann (GER).
Next
to young German driver Marco Wittmann, who already raced one year
with the team of Josef Kaufmann, scoring a 5th position
in the overall standings in the German Formula BMW and a superb 2nd
place at the Formula BMW World Final at Valencia, two new drivers
will join the team for 2008.
16-year old Mexican Esteban Gutiérrez from Monterrey, who won the
Rookie Championship and finished 2nd in the overall
Formula BMW USA Championship in 2007 will change to Europe to start
in the new Formula BMW Europe Series.
The
Rookie driver in the team of Josef Kaufmann will be Kazeem Manzur.
The 16-year old Briton has beeing very successful over the last
years in International Go-Karting. 2005 and 2006 he arrived
on overall 4th
position in the Italian Open Masters in ICA Junior. In 2007
he achieved 2nd place in the ultra competitive French KF
1 Championship and was the youngest driver finishing on a podium
during an event of the CIK-FIA European KF 1 Championship. |
