Kaufmann Drivers with good pace at first official test days at Barcelona

At the first official test days of Formula BMW Europe Season 2009 in Barcelona the Kaufmann Drivers showed a good pace. During the two day test sessions the two expierenced drivers Kazeem Manzur and Facu Regalia, as well as Rookie Driver Robin Frijns showed constant fast laptimes.

On both days the track was wet in the morning. Robin Frijns and Facu Regalia had been in the Top 5 all the time during the wet conditions. In the afternoon the track was dry and the Kaufmann Drivers set their fastest lap times on new tires. At the end of day one Kazeem Manzur was 5th fastest, Facu Regalia 9th and Robin Frijns who for the first time ever used new tires was on 21st position.

At the end of the second day, young spaniard Facu Regalia was the fastes Kaufmann Driver setting the 4th fastest lap time overall. Kazeem Manzur was 10th. A big improvement showed Robin Frijns. The young Dutch driver improved himself to 14th position (2nd fastest Rookie) with only a very close gap to the Top 10.

11.03.2009 Formula BMW Europe Season 2009

The second official test of Formula BMW Europe 2009 was held on the high speed track at Monza. In the morning of the first day, Kazeem Manzur showed a pretty strong performance setting the 4th fastest time, Facu Regalia was 11th and Robin Frijns first had to learn the track and was on P16. In the afternoon the Kaufmann Drivers decided not to use a new set of tires and in the end they dropped down the timing lists.

On the second testing day all Kaufmann Drivers used one set of new tires in the morning session and set the 4th fastest time - Facu Regalia, 6th - Kazeem Manzur and 8th - Robin Frijns. As the day before in the afternoon session the Team decided not to go out on new tires again.

19.03.2009 Formula BMW Europe Season 2009

Once again like last year, the Formula BMW Europe 2009 Introductory Test was held at Silverstone. After some official Start, Safety Car and Race simulations, the first free test session took place at Wednesday afternoon. After all drivers had been out on a new set of tires, young dutch Rookie driver Robin Frijns showed a very strong performance with setting the 4th fastest overall laptime on a circuit he never raced on before. His teammates Facu Regalia and Kazeem Manzur followed him on the Places 5 and 6.

On Thursday once again, Robin Frijns was the fastest Kaufmann Driver. At the early afternoon all Kaufmann Drivers decided to go out on a new set of tires. Even though Frijns spun at the early stages of beeing out on new tires he still was able to set the 7th fastest overall laptime of the day. His Teammates had set the 9. - Facu Regalia and 10. - Kazeem Manzur fastest laptimes.

31.03.2009 Formula BMW Europe Season 2009

At the 2 day official Formula BMW Europe Test on the Nürburgring all Kaufmann Drivers once again showed a pretty strong performance. In the Morning Session of the first day Robin Frijns was the fastest Kaufmann Driver beeing 2nd fastest in the overall classification. Kaufmann Teammates Kazeem Manzur and Facu Regalia had been positioned on P6 and P10. In the Afternoon Session the track had been badly covered by oil and all Kaufmann Drivers stopped their testing programm. Because of that they dropped down the time lists and finished the first day on P6 - Frijns, P8 - Regalia and P10 - Manzur.

On the second day Robin Frijns again was the fastest Kaufmann Driver. The young Dutch Driver showed a very strong performance and did the 2nd fastest overall laptime of the day. His teammates finished the day on P7 - Regalia and P9 - Manzur.

07.04.2009 Formula BMW Europe Season 2009

At the last official Formula BMW Europe 2009 Test before the season kick off race, all Kaufmann Drivers faced some technical problems. At the very demanding track of Spa-Francorchamps it was Robin Frijns who was 6th fastest in the irst morning Test session. In the afternoon the Team´s testing programm was disturbed by two engine blow ups and a lot of work due to this. In the end of the day, Facu Regalia set the 6th fastest overall time. Kazeem Manzur and Robin Frijns didn´t use their new tires due to the problems and ended up on P 12 and 18.

On the second day a similar situation. Robin Frijns, after changing the engine was still suffering from engine power problems, same as Kazeem Manzur. Frijns again didn´t use new tires and ended up at the 26 position at the end of the day. A bit better the situation for Kazeem Manzur and Facu Regalia. Manzur was 6th in the morning session and Regalia 8th in the afternoon.
