At hot
outdoor circumstances of more than 30 degrees the final official
Test of the Formula BMW Europe was held at the Hungaroring at
Budapest. As usual the Kaufmann Driver had a quick pace direct from
the beginning on. At the end of the morning session Manzur was 6th
fastest followed by Teammate Regalia on P7. Rookie Driver Robin
Frijns, who was the first time on the track of Budapest was 13th
fastest. In the afternoon, the Kaufmann Drivers used only one set of
new tires and finished the day on P11 - Facu Regalia and P12 -
Kazeem Manzur. Robin Frijns who had a bad cold and wasn´t physicly
fit didn´t use any new tires and only drove few laps. He was 23rd at
the end of the day.
On the
second day, Robin Frijns was very ill and had to travel home
immediately, loosing one testing day. Facu Regalia showed a very
strong performance on the second testing day. With a new set of
tires he was 3rd fastest in the morning session. Kazeem Manzur was
slightly struggleing in the second sector of the track and only
managed to set the 12th fastest time. In the afternoon session, the
Kaufmann Drivers decided to save tires and did only a few laps. In
the overall standing Facu Regalia set the 4th fastest lap time.
Kazeem Manzur ended up on P12.
