Free Practise:
This year´s German Grand Prix was held at the historical
Nürburgring. During the free practise all Kaufmann Drivers were on
top of the time sheets. In the end it was a 1 - 2 - 3 for Kaufmann
Racing. Robin Frijns had set the fastest lap time infront of his
Teammates Facu Regalia on P 2 and Kazeem Manzur on P 3.
Qualifying:
In the
Qualifying Session at Friday Evening things didn´t work out lucky.
Facu Regalia was the fastest Kaufmann Driver who qualified on P 4
for the first race but missed a good second lap and was only on P 9
for the second race. Robin Frijns had to abort his fastest two laps
because of yellow flags and qualified on P 7 and P 5. Kazeem Manzur
as well was struggleing a bit to put his lap together. He finally
qualified on P 11 and P 8.
Race 1:
Facu Regalia had a good start and moved up to third. Unfortunately
he was pushed off the track before the first corner and dropped back
to P6. Robin Frijns also lost one position in the first corner.
Kazeem Manzur moved up to P 10 in the first lap. Facu Regalia
quickly recovered from his bad luck in the first corner and fought
his way back to P 4 within 2 laps. With the fastest race laps he was
catching up to William Buller. The same situation with Robin Frijns.
The young Dutch was very fast and moved up to P 5 during half way of
the race. As Facu Regalia was blocked unfair by William Buller
during several laps Robin Frijns tooke the chance and overtook both
drivers in the first corner. One lap later Regalia also went pass
Buller. Kazeem Manzur in the meantime moved up to P 9 and finished
the race on that position. Finally Robin Frijns finished the race on
the Podium on 3rd position. Teammate Facu Regalia followed him
closly on P 4.
Race
2:
For the second race
the drivers found very difficult weather conditions. Because of
heavy rain the race was started behind the Safety Car. Robin Frijns
was able to hold his 5th position at the start. Facu Regalia quickly
moved up to 6th position but then went off the track, spun and
dropped back to P 10. Kazeem Manzur had a crash while moving up to P
7. Manzur had to retire from the race because of a broken front
suspension. Facu Regalia was able to move up to P 8 in the end.
Robin Frijns, who drove his first ever wet race, finally finished on
a strong P 5. |
