Free Practice:
During the free
practice session at the very demanding track of Circuit Park
Zandvoort all Kaufmann Drivers had been on used tyres and showed a
pretty good performance. Frijns was on P4, van Asseldonk P8 and
Suvanto P11.
Qualifying:
In the
Qualifying session Frijns was a bit unlucky. On his 3 fastest laps
he was held up by drivers leaving the pits. He unfortunately only
qualified two times on P4. Petri Suvanto improved his performance
and qualified on P9 for both races. Hannes van Asseldonk went off
the track during the first stint and broke the floor of his car
heavily. Because of that he only was able to qualify on P16 and P15.
Race 1:
At the
start fort he first race Frijns directly attacked the drivers
infront of him. With faster laptimes he started to put pressure on
his rivals. During the whole race he tried to overtake on different
parts on the whole track but didn´t found a safe and unrisky way to
pass the drivers infront of him. He finally settled down to finish
on P4. Petri Suvanto had a good start and was running on P9.
Unfortunately the driver infront of him spun and Suvanto had to doge
the spinning car running off the track into the gravel trap. He
rejoined the race on the last position. After two safety car periods
he finally finished on P12.
Hannes van
Asseldonk had a very disappointing race. He crashed in the second
lap. The car was heavily damaged and his race was finished very
early.
Race
2:
On Sunday Afternoon it started to rain very hard. Frijns had a good
start and defended his postion. During the first 3 laps he overtook
all drivers infront of him and in lap 4 he took over the lead. After
that he drove lap times upto 3 seconds faster than any other driver
and opened up a gap of 15 seconds to the rest of the field. During
the last laps Frijns slowed down a bit because of the very difficult
conditions and finally he won his second race of this season in a
dominant way.
Petri Suvanto and
Hannes van Asseldonk also drove a very good race. Both drivers moved
up positions every lap. Running on P5 and P6 they were putting
pressure on the drivers infront of them but didn´t found a chance to
pass anymore as the conditions really had been to dangerous. Finally
they finished on P5 - van Asseldonk and on P6 - Suvanto. |
