Free Practice:
During
the Free Practice Session for Round 4 of the Formula BMW Europe
Championship at Silverstone all Kaufmann Drivers had been on the
pace directly from the beginning on. Robin Frijns was 2nd fastest.
Petri Suvanto had set the 6th fastest time and Hannes van Asseldonk
was 11th fastest.
Qualifying:
During Qualifying Robin Frijns was able to repeat
hi performance and qualified on P3 and P2. Petri Suvanto qualified
two times on P9. Hannes van Asseldonk was able to qualify on P7 for
the first race. Unfortunately he missed a second fast lap and only
got on starting position 13 for the second race.
Race 1:
Frijns
had a good start and was able to take over 2nd position during the
first lap. After that he was putting pressure on the leader with
some faster laptimes. Both leading drivers were pulling away from
the rest of the field. After the middle of the race positions had
been settled and the lap times at the front hab been identical.
Finally Frijns finished on P2.
Hannes van
Asseldonk had a good start and moved up to P6 in the first lap. He
was able to follow the leading group for 5 laps but then
unfortunately he missed an overtaking move and was getting under
pressure from the drivers behind him. In some very hard overtaking
moves he finally dropped back to P9 at the end of the race.
Petri Suvanto had a
good start and was able to hold his position at the beginning. In
the middle of the race he was able to attack the driver in front of
him and he finally moved up one position and ended the race on P8.
Race
2:
Frijns had a perfect start and took over the lead. After two laps in
the lead he was surprised by an attack from second placed driver
Carlos Sainz Jr. and dropped back to P2. After that he was able to
mantaine the same speed than the leader but wasn´t able to start any
overtaking move. Frijns finally finished on second place like the
day before.
Petri Suvanto had a
strong race. From P9 he moved upto P6 in the first lap. After that
he was able to take over 5th position and was able to defend his
place untill the middle of the race. After a very clean fight he
unfortunately dropped back to P6 and finished the race on that
position.
Hannes van
Asseldonk had a solid race. He was able to move up some positions
during the opening laps. Finally van Asseldonk finished on P10. |
