Pole and Victory for Frijns in Budapest - van Asseldonk in Top 5 - Suvanto finished on P7.

     

Free Practice: During the whole Free Practice Session Robin Frijns was the fastest driver on the track. Also at the end of the session Frijns had set the fastest lap time. His teammates finished the Free Practice on P10 - Suvanto and P 12 - van Asseldonk.

 

Qualifying: Robin Frijns once again did a very good Qualifying and clinched another Pole Position for this year. He qualified on P1 and P3 for the second race. Hannes van Asseldonk also had a very good Qualifying and took starting positions P7 and P4. Petri Suvanto qualifyied himself on P 10 and P7.

 

Race 1: At the start to the first race on Saturday Robin Frijns was able to defend his lead into the first corner. After that he was able to open up a 3 seconds gap to the following drivers. Untill the end of the race he had everything under control and took a clean lights-to-flag victory. His 4th win of the season so far.

Hannes van Asseldonk had a good start as well but then lost a position into the first corner. After that he had to defend himself and lost two more positions. In the end he finished on P10.

Petri Suvanto also lost some positions during the race. In the second last lap he unfortunately spun in turn two after a driver infront of him lost oil. He finally finished on P14.

 

Race 2: Frijns again had a good start and was able to put pressure on the leaders. In the second lap he overtook Carlos Sainz Jr. and took over second position. After that he was closing the gap to the leader Jack Harvey. At the middle of the race he was following Harvey by less than 1 second distance. Finally in the end Frijns became some problems with the usage of his tyres and couldn´t keep up the pressure on Harvey. Still Frijns finished the race on a great P2.

Hannes van Asseldonk lost one position in the opening lap but then was able to drive a very strong race. With constant fast race laps he settled down on P5 during the whole race. In the end he finished on a strong P5.

Petri Suvanto also had a solid race pace. As overtaking in Budapest is nearly impossible he finished the race on P7.
