Kaufmann Driver Robin Frijns takes maiden win in Formula Renault 2.0 NEC Race in Assen - Mathieu Jaminet in Top 5

Free Practice 1 + 2: In the first free practice both drivers first had to get known the track in Assen. Both drivers got along with the track pretty well and in the end had set the 3rd - Frijns and 4th - Jaminet fastest laptimes of the session.

In the second free practice it was Robin Frijns who was able to set the overall fastest laptime - P 1. Teammate Mathieu Jaminet again was on P 4.

Qualifying 1 + 2: In the first Qualifying due to yellow and red flag situations both Kaufmann Drivers only were able to set one real flying lap and qualified on P 4 - Frijns and P 5 - Jaminet.

In Qualifying two a simular situtation. Again the qualifying was interrupted by a red flag situation. This time the Kaufmann Drivers qualified themselves on P 2 - Frijns and again P 5 - Jaminet.

Race 1: Frijns had a pefect start and moved up to P 2 in the first corner. From that point on Frijns was attacking the leader every lap. He drove the overall fastest race lap but still couldn´t find a way past and finally took another podium finish with a great P 2. Mathieu Jaminet also drove a strong race with some hard wheel to wheel racing action and finally finished on P 5.

Race 2: Frijns again had a great start and took over the lead in the first corner. From that point on Frijns was controlling the race. He drove a very clean race without any mistakes and finally took his maiden victory in this season in Formula Renault. Mathieu Jaminet stalled the engine at the start and dropped back to the very last position. Finally he was able to finish the race on P 10.

Race 3: Due to the reversed grid rule for race 3 (top 6 from race 1 reverserd order), Jaminet was on starting position 2 and Frijns on starting position 5. A heavy thunderstorm with a lot of rain arrived just at the start of the race. After 10 minutes behind the Safety Car the race was red flagged, due to undrivable conditions. After a 10 minutes breake the race was resumed again behind the Safety Car. Mathieu Jaminet in the 2nd lap was touched by another car and spun. One lap after he had to give up the race in the gravel trap. Robin Frijns drove a clean and safe race and finished the 6 laps race directly behind a driver infront of him on P 4.
