NEWS Formula Renault - 2012

Under sunny conditions the official test days of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup 2012 took place in Barcelona.

As usual, the Kaufmann Drivers were able to put down fast laptimes straight away from the beginning of the sessions. In the morning it was Alex Riberas on P 3, Stoffel Vandoorne on P 4 and Pieter Schothorst on P 7. In the afternoon session, times dropped further and in the end it was Stoffel Vandoorne on P 3, Alex Riberas on P 5 and Pieter Schothorst on P 25.

In the morning of the second day, the times had been the fastest of the two test days. With a very clean run on new tyres, it was Kaufmann Driver Stoffel Vandoorne who set the overall fastest laptime ever driven on the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. So P 1 for the young Belgian Driver. Alex Riberas found himself on a strong P 6 and Pieter Schothorst who was really unlucky on new tyres and finished only on P 26 overall.

The first official Test Days of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup 2012 season took place on the HTTT Paul Ricard in south France. The Kaufmann Drivers as usual were directly on the pace.

During the first day, it was Alex Riberas who was P 1 in the morning session. Stoffel Vandoorne was P 6 and Pieter Schothorst P 25. In the afternoon it was Stoffel Vandoorne who set the overall fastest laptime of the day, P 1. Pieter Schothorst made his was up the time sheets on P 9. Alex Riberas not using new tyres in the afternoon finished on P 22.

On the second day, all Kaufmann Drivers had been a bit unlucky during their run on new tyres. It was Vandoorne on P 10, Riberas on P 11 and Schothorst on P 17. In the afternoon Riberas was on P 4, Vandoorne on P 6 and Schothorst on P 19.

Kaufmann Drivers with strong performance during private test days in Valencia

The Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup season 2012 started with some private test days, which were organised by Renault Sport. The test days took place in spanish Valencia.

During the first day, the Kaufmann Drivers first made some installation and check up runs, before putting down some fast lap times. At the end of day 1, it was spanish Alex Riberas who finished on P 2 overall. Followed by his belgian Teammate Stoffel Vandoorne on P 3. Pieter Schothorst placed himself on a good P 12 in the field of around 40 cars.

At the second day of testing, the situation stayed like at the first day. Again the Kaufmann Drivers showed a strong performance. This time it was Stoffel Vandoorne on P 2, followed by Teammate Alex Riberas on P 3. Pieter Schothorst, like the day before, finished the sessions on an overall P 12.
