Free Practice:
In the first free practice on this brand new track near Moscow, it
was Stoffel Vandoorne who directly had set the overall fastest
practice time. Teammates Riberas and Schothorst were on P 11 and P
19.
In free practice
two it was again Stoffel Vandoorne who was fastest man. Again the
overall fastest practice time set by the young Belgian. Riberas
improved himself to P 5, Schothorst was on P 25.
Qualifying 1:
Due to the high number of cars in Formula Renault Eurocup the
Qualifying was split into two groups. Stoffel Vandoorne was in Group
A. Vandoorne drove a clean Qualifying and took P 1 in his Group as
well as the fastest laptime overall to be on Pole-Position.
Riberas and
Schothorst were in Group B. Riberas finished P 3 in his group,
Schothorst P 9. Overall it was Vandoorne on Pole, Riberas on P 6 and
Schothorst on P 18 for Race 1.
Race 1:
Vandoorne lost the lead into Turn 1. Schothorst improved himself
during the race upto P 17. Riberas also lost one position at the
start and finished the race on P 7 finally. Vandoorne drove an
agressive race with overall fastest race laps and tried very hard to
get back into the lead. The young Belgian was clearly the fastest
man on track but could find a way back to take the lead again.
Finally he finished on P 2.
Qualifying 2:
Riberas and Schothorst in Group B were first on track on Sunday
morning. Riberas went on P 5 in his group, Schothorst on P 13. Not a
very faultfree Qualifying of both drivers.
Vandoorne in Group
A once again showed an incredible performance with driving a new
track record and taking again Pole-Position. Overall it was
Vandoorne on Pole, Riberas on P 10 and Schothorst on P 26.
Race 2:
Sunday´s race was started in the afternoon. Vandoorne again lost his
lead into the first corner. Schothorst had a good start and moved up
positions. He finished the race on P 20 in the end. Alex Riberas was
very unlucky and had to retire after a collision. Stoffel Vandoorne,
like the day before was putting much pressure on the leader. Again
beeing the faster driver he still couldn´t find a way to take over
the lead. In the end he finished again on P 2.
