Saturday at
noon Q2
took place under sunny conditions. Luis Leeds had a difficult
session as all his lap times were deleted due to the failure to
respect the track limits. Yifei Ye showed his best performance
of the year to finish P 3 and P 2 in the Group. Sacha Fenestraz
was dominating the session and took twice P 1 and overall Pole
Position with setting the fastest Qualifying lap overall.

Race 1:
Ye lost a few place at the start and Leeds moved up a few
positions. In the second lap, Ye and Leeds collided in turn 2,
and Leeds flipped over. Luckily the young Australian wasn´t
hurt. Ye was penalized after the race with 25 seconds for
causing that collision, what put him from P10 to P24. Fenestraz
at the front was fighting for the lead but had to settle for P2
at the chequered flag.
Race 2:
On Sunday morning Leeds didn´t start the race due to some
medical check ups to be done after his crash from the day before.
Ye had an average start and lost one position in lap 1. After
that he set the fastest race lap but lost another position later
on and finished on P7. Fenestraz starting from Pole Position had
a poor start and lost 2 positions in the first corner. After
that he was fighting to gain back the positions but had to
settle for P3 in the end.
Race 3: Leeds starting from the back of the grid overtook a few competitors
and finished on P26. Yifei Ye once again lost a few places
during the start and dropped to P5 where he finished the race.
Still he was the best Rookie, awarded with the Rookie win on the
podium and his best season performance so far on P5. Sacha
Fenestraz jumped the start and was give a 10-sec time penalty
straight away. After that the young frenchman showed his full
potential and won the race on track, to take the chequered flag
on first position. After his 10-sec time penalty he was
classified P8. |
